Jamin Davis's rare athletic testing turned him from a one-year starter at Kentucky into a first-round pick, but his NFL career has been defined more by movement than stability since leaving Washington. He has cycled through several organizations over the past two years while trying to recapture his early promise.
Path to the league
Davis became a full-time starter at Kentucky only in his redshirt junior season in 2020, but he made it count, leading the team with 102 tackles to go with three interceptions, including a pick-six, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. His outstanding athletic testing ahead of the draft pushed him up boards, and the Washington Football Team took him 19th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Davis started for stretches during his time in Washington as a downhill linebacker before the team moved on from him as their season fell apart. He has since played for Minnesota, Washington again, and the Jets organization, splitting time between practice squads and active rosters as he looks for a permanent home.
2025 season recap
Davis re-signed with the Jets in March 2025 but was released before the regular season began. He later signed with the Las Vegas Raiders' practice squad in October, was promoted to the active roster in November, and was released again in December, appearing in limited action during a turbulent year.
