A former national champion and first-round tackle out of Alabama, Jedrick Wills Jr. is working his way back after a knee injury wiped out his entire 2025 season.
Jedrick Wills Jr. entered the NFL as a highly regarded left tackle prospect off Alabama's national championship teams, quickly becoming a fixture in Cleveland's offensive line. A series of knee injuries derailed his last several seasons, culminating in him sitting out all of 2025 to fully recover. He now looks to reestablish himself as a starting tackle in Chicago.
Path to the league
Wills started 29 games at right tackle for Alabama from 2017-19, helping the Crimson Tide to a 38-4 record and a national championship in 2017. As a junior in 2019 he earned All-SEC First Team honors, allowing just one sack all season. The Cleveland Browns drafted him 10th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Wills started 57 of 58 games at left tackle for Cleveland from 2020-24, earning PFWA All-Rookie Team honors in his debut season as the Browns reached the playoffs. In 2022 he started all 17 games, helping clear the way for a 1,525-yard rushing season from Nick Chubb.
2025 season recap
Wills did not play in 2025. A recurring right knee issue that required surgery in 2023 proved more complex than initially believed, eventually requiring an osteotomy to correct his leg alignment, and he chose to sit out the entire season to fully rehabilitate rather than rush back.
