A national champion left tackle at Ohio State who reunited with his position coach in Arizona after going undrafted.
Josh Fryar overcame a torn ACL early in his Ohio State career to become a first-team All-Big Ten left tackle and a national champion. He went undrafted in 2025 but landed with the Arizona Cardinals, where his old Ohio State offensive line coach, Justin Frye, had just been hired, and he has already worked his way into the starting rotation.
Path to the league
A three-star recruit out of Beech Grove High School in Indiana, Fryar redshirted his first year at Ohio State and tore his ACL during the 2021 season. He worked his way into the starting lineup, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors at left tackle in 2023 and helping anchor the offensive line for Ohio State's 2024 national championship team. He went unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft and signed with Arizona as an undrafted free agent.
Career highlights
Fryar started all 29 games Ohio State played over his final two collegiate seasons, including every game of the Buckeyes' 2024 national title run at right tackle, for which he earned honorable mention All-Big Ten recognition. His combination of size and physicality at 6'5", 320 pounds made him a priority undrafted signing.
2025 season recap
Fryar earned a roster spot with Arizona out of training camp and has seen real playing time as a rookie, appearing in 12 games with 5 starts during the 2025 season as part of the Cardinals' offensive line rotation.
