Jeremiah Webb is a wide receiver on the New England Patriots roster who took an unusual road to the NFL, signing with the Berlin Thunder of the European League of Football before New England scooped him up as an undrafted free agent in 2025. The Chicago native combines physicality with reliable hands, traits that helped him carve out a practice-squad-to-roster path.

Path to the league

Webb began his college career at South Dakota, where he redshirted before making his mark with a 57-yard Hail Mary catch to beat rival South Dakota State on the final play in 2021. He transferred to South Alabama in 2022 and closed out his college run there, going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

In his final season at South Alabama, Webb posted career highs of 36 catches for 649 yards and five touchdowns, and he was named MVP of the 2024 Salute to Veterans Bowl. After a brief stint with the Berlin Thunder, he signed a three-year contract with the Patriots in April 2025.

2025 season recap

Webb impressed in Patriots preseason action, hauling in six catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. New England released him at final cuts on August 26, 2025, but brought him back to the practice squad two days later, and he signed a reserve/futures contract in February 2026 to stay in the organization.
