A well-traveled interior lineman who has bounced through three organizations since 2024 before settling into Cincinnati's defensive tackle rotation.
Jordan Jefferson is a defensive tackle for the Cincinnati Bengals who took a winding path to get there, going from a fourth-round pick in Jacksonville to a waiver-wire claim in San Francisco before Cincinnati grabbed him off the wire in October 2025. The Florida native built his college resume across two programs before capping it with a strong final year at LSU.
Path to the league
Jefferson played four seasons at West Virginia (2019-2022) before transferring to LSU for his final year of eligibility in 2023, where he racked up 36 tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks as one of the Tigers' top interior disruptors. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected him in the fourth round, 116th overall, of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
At West Virginia, Jefferson earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors as a senior in 2022 after leading the team with 9.5 tackles for loss. As a rookie with Jacksonville in 2024, he appeared in eight games and recorded 12 tackles, one tackle for loss and a pass defense.
2025 season recap
Jefferson's 2025 season was defined by roster turnover. Jacksonville waived him coming out of the preseason, San Francisco claimed him off waivers and then cut him loose weeks later, and Cincinnati claimed him on October 3, 2025 to add depth on the interior defensive line.
