Ohio State center who reunited with old teammates in New York and earned a Jets extension.
Josh Myers is a former second-round center out of Ohio State who landed with the New York Jets in 2025 after four seasons in Green Bay. His move reunited him with ex-Buckeyes teammates and turned into a multi-year commitment.
Path to the league
Myers anchored the middle of Ohio State's line for three seasons from 2018 to 2020, snapping to quarterback Justin Fields and earning first-team All-Big Ten and second-team All-America honors after the 2020 season. The Green Bay Packers drafted him in the second round, 62nd overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Myers signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Jets in March 2025, reuniting with former Ohio State teammates Justin Fields and Garrett Wilson. He began as a backup but moved into the starting lineup at center after a line shuffle prompted by an injury to Alijah Vera-Tucker.
2025 season
Myers took over as the Jets' starting center in 2025 and held the job, with the team valuing his play enough to extend him. In December 2025, the Jets signed Myers to a two-year, $11 million extension with $6 million guaranteed, keeping him in New York through 2027.
