Keisean Nixon has carved out a dual role in Green Bay, handling slot cornerback duties while serving as one of the league's most dangerous return men. The Associated Press named him first-team All-Pro as a kick returner in both 2022 and 2023, and he has since grown into a fuller defensive role. He played his college football at South Carolina after starting his career at Arizona Western.
Path to the league
Nixon went undrafted in 2019 out of South Carolina and signed with the then-Oakland Raiders. He bounced on and off the roster early in his career before landing with the Packers in 2022, where special teams gave him his breakthrough. Green Bay handed him a return job, and he turned it into back-to-back All-Pro honors.
Career highlights
Nixon became the fourth player to earn first-team All-Pro at kick returner in consecutive seasons, joining Cordarrelle Patterson, Devin Hester and Mel Gray. He was the first Packer named AP All-Pro at the position since it was added in 1976. His combination of return value and defensive snaps made him a roster staple in Green Bay.
2025 season
Nixon set career highs on defense in 2025, posting 88 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks, six quarterback hits, seven passes defensed and three forced fumbles per Packers reporting. The Packers reached the playoffs before losing to the Eagles. After the season, Nixon initially expressed frustration about returning kicks but later walked it back, saying he would remain part of Green Bay's return plans.
