Kris Abrams-Draine is a cornerback for the Denver Broncos who took an unusual route to the position, starting his college career at wide receiver before switching to defense at Missouri. That conversion paid off with All-SEC honors and a 2024 draft selection by Denver.

Path to the league

Abrams-Draine signed with Missouri in 2019 as a wide receiver but moved to cornerback after just one season. He developed into one of the SEC's top cover men, recording 40 passes defensed over his final three seasons, including 13 in his final year to lead the conference and 16 passes defensed with four interceptions in his last season overall. He earned First-team All-SEC and second-team All-American honors in 2023, and Denver selected him in the fifth round, 145th overall, in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

As a Missouri sophomore in 2021, Abrams-Draine posted 37 tackles and three interceptions across 13 games with 10 starts. His ball skills carried over from his wide receiver days, making him a disruptive presence on the back end of Missouri's defense before he turned pro.

2025 season recap

Abrams-Draine made his NFL debut in Week 13 of his rookie 2024 season against Cleveland, stepping in at cornerback after a veteran was benched. In 2025, he appeared in 17 regular season games with 2 starts, recording 30 combined tackles and a pass deflection, and added a tackle across two playoff appearances as Denver's cornerback depth.
