Laremy Tunsil has spent a decade as one of the NFL's premier pass-protecting tackles, following blockbuster trades from Miami to Houston and, more recently, to Washington. Now in his 11th season, he continues to grade among the league's elite offensive tackles.
Path to the league
Tunsil played three seasons at Ole Miss from 2013 to 2015, starting 26 of 29 games and earning second-team All-America and first-team All-SEC honors in back-to-back years. The Miami Dolphins selected him in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
After four seasons in Miami, Tunsil was traded to the Houston Texans in 2019, where he made five Pro Bowls (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024) protecting the blind side. He was later traded to the Washington Commanders, where he signed a contract extension. Since 2022, he has posted a 91.7 pass-blocking grade, second among all offensive tackles over that span.
2025 season recap
In his first full season in Washington, Tunsil earned an 84.7 overall PFF grade, ranking sixth among qualified offensive tackles, with an 88.9 pass-blocking grade that ranked second at the position. He allowed just 1.5 sacks across 14 starts and was voted the Commanders' team MVP by Commanders Wire for the 2025 season.
