Path to the league

Johnson played college football at Kentucky after a junior-college stint, developing into a long, physical defensive back for the Wildcats. The Houston Texans selected him in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He has since played for the Texans, Chiefs, Raiders and now the Dolphins, transitioning between cornerback and safety.

2025 season

Johnson signed with the Raiders in March 2025 but fractured his fibula in an August practice collision with teammate Maxx Crosby, landing him on injured reserve to start the season.
