A 6-foot-4 Montreal native, Malick Meiga turned down more guaranteed money elsewhere to sign with Carolina as an undrafted free agent, betting on a path to make the roster through special teams.
Malick Meiga is a long, athletic target out of Coastal Carolina who chose the Panthers over other suitors after going undrafted in 2026, believing Carolina gave him the clearest path onto the field. The Montreal native brings size at wide receiver that stands out even in a crowded rookie class.
Path to the league
Meiga is a native of Montreal, Canada, who played his college football at Coastal Carolina, appearing in 23 games over his final two seasons with the Chanticleers. Standing 6-foot-4, he went unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft but signed with Carolina as an undrafted free agent, receiving a $15,000 signing bonus.
Career highlights
At Coastal Carolina, Meiga's size made him a matchup problem on the outside even as he shared targets in a crowded receiver room. His best college season came in 2025, when he became a regular contributor in the Chanticleers' passing game.
2025 season recap
Meiga played in 11 games for Coastal Carolina in 2025, catching 19 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown. That production, paired with his size and special-teams upside, was enough to draw undrafted free agent interest from multiple NFL teams before he settled on Carolina.
