Nehemiah Pritchett turned down an early jump to the NFL to return for one more season at Auburn, then landed with Seattle in the fifth round of the 2024 draft. His combine speed and physical style have made him a candidate to handle snaps both outside and in the slot as he works toward a bigger role.

Path to the league

Pritchett played five seasons at Auburn from 2019 to 2023, appearing in 51 games and recording 115 tackles, three interceptions and 26 passes defensed. He returned to school for his senior year rather than enter the 2023 draft early. At the NFL Scouting Combine, he ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash, among the fastest times for defensive backs that year. Seattle selected him in the fifth round, 136th overall, in the 2024 NFL Draft via a trade with Denver.

Career highlights

Pritchett's college resume includes an 80-yard blocked field goal return for a touchdown in 2021 and a full season as a starter in 2022 with 37 tackles and eight pass breakups. As a pro, he has worked as a depth and rotational cornerback capable of playing on the boundary or in the slot.

2025 season recap

Pritchett appeared in all 17 regular-season games for Seattle in 2025, recording 26 total tackles and three pass deflections across his first two NFL seasons combined. He was part of the Seahawks roster that went on to win Super Bowl LX over New England.
