Nick Nash is a wide receiver looking to carve out a role in Washington after one of the most unlikely breakout seasons in recent college football memory. He spent most of his San Jose State career as a backup quarterback before a senior-year move to receiver turned him into the sport's most productive pass catcher.
Path to the league
Nash was a two-star recruit who signed with San Jose State as a dual-threat quarterback and spent three seasons buried on the depth chart before switching to wide receiver. He went undrafted in 2025 and signed with the Atlanta Falcons, spending the season on their practice squad before Washington brought him in on a reserve/future contract in June 2026.
Career highlights
In his first full season at receiver in 2023, Nash posted 48 catches for 728 yards and 8 touchdowns. He exploded in 2024, finishing the regular season with 104 receptions, 1,382 yards and 16 touchdowns to become just the fourth FBS player ever to lead the nation in all three receiving categories in the same season. That performance made him a Biletnikoff Award finalist and a first-team Walter Camp All-American.
2025 season recap
Nash spent his rookie year on the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad after signing as an undrafted free agent, not appearing in a regular-season game. Washington signed him to a futures deal in June 2026, giving him a fresh opportunity to compete for a role in the receiving corps.
