A former Marshall touchdown machine who has settled into a depth and returner role behind Baltimore's veteran-heavy backfield.

Rasheen Ali arrived in Baltimore as a fifth-round pick after leading the nation in rushing touchdowns during his sophomore year at Marshall. Behind a Ravens offense built around Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, Ali has carved out a smaller complementary role as both a change-of-pace back and kick returner.

Path to the league

Ali starred at Marshall, where as a sophomore in 2021 he led the nation with 21 rushing touchdowns while topping 1,400 rushing yards. He stepped away from football for part of the 2022 season to focus on his mental and physical health before returning for a strong senior campaign in 2023. The Ravens selected him in the fifth round (No. 165 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft, making him the first Sun Belt prospect drafted that year.

Career highlights

In his final Marshall season, Ali rushed for 1,135 yards and 15 touchdowns on 212 carries while adding 28 receptions. He finished his college career with 39 rushing touchdowns and built a reputation for lateral agility that makes him a threat in zone-blocking schemes and on perimeter runs.

2025 season recap

Ali served as a depth back and returner for Baltimore in 2025, carrying seven times for 24 yards while catching nine passes for 68 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets. He also contributed on special teams, piling up 763 kickoff-return yards as the Ravens continued to lean on Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson for the bulk of their ground game.
