Ryan Flournoy's path to the NFL ran through three different college programs before he landed at Southeast Missouri State and put up back-to-back 1,000-yard-caliber seasons. A sixth-round pick in 2024, he has emerged as a steady complementary target in the Cowboys' passing game.

Path to the league

Flournoy began his college career at Central Missouri in 2018, moved on to Iowa Western Community College in 2021, and finished his eligibility at Southeast Missouri State from 2022 to 2023. The Dallas Cowboys drafted him in the sixth round with the 216th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, making him the first SEMO player ever selected by the franchise.

Career highlights

At Southeast Missouri State, Flournoy caught 61 passes for 984 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2022, then followed with 57 catches for 839 yards and 6 scores in 2023 despite playing through a broken hand, earning two-time first-team All-Big South-OVC honors. His combine testing included a 4.44-second 40-yard dash and a 40-inch vertical leap.

2025 season recap

Flournoy established himself as Dallas's third wide receiver option in 2025, posting career highs of 35 receptions for 407 yards and 4 touchdowns through Week 14. His best outing came against Detroit on December 4, when he set career highs with 9 catches for 115 yards, and he also delivered a six-catch, 114-yard game while filling in for an injured CeeDee Lamb.
