A three-time All-PSAC tackle who dominated at Division II Kutztown, Ryan Schernecke signed a fully guaranteed contract with the Giants as an undrafted free agent.
Ryan Schernecke was an unranked recruit out of Upper Moreland High School in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, who built himself into one of Division II football's best offensive linemen at Kutztown University. The Giants moved quickly to sign him with a fully guaranteed contract right after the 2026 NFL Draft, viewing the 6-foot-7, 320-pound tackle as a developmental swing-tackle prospect.
Path to the league
Schernecke went unranked as a recruit coming out of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, and signed with Kutztown in the 2021 class. He developed into a three-time All-PSAC selection over his college career, spending most of his snaps at left tackle while also gaining experience at right tackle. He went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft and signed with the Giants immediately afterward.
Career highlights
Schernecke earned first-team All-PSAC honors in both 2024 and 2025 and was named second-team AP All-American in 2025, while also being a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award given to the top Division II lineman in the country. He helped anchor a Kutztown offensive line that ranked among the best in Division II in limiting sacks and tackles for loss.
2025 season recap
In 2025, Schernecke helped lead Kutztown to a 14-1 record, with the Bears' only loss coming in the Division II semifinals. He earned first-team All-PSAC and second-team AP All-American honors while Kutztown's offensive line ranked fourth in Division II in limiting tackles for loss and fifth in sacks allowed. The Giants signed him to a fully guaranteed contract shortly after the draft.
