Shavon Revel Jr. entered the 2025 draft as a boundary corner some evaluators had rated as a first-round talent, ACL tear and all. Dallas landed him in the third round, but a setback in his recovery pushed his NFL debut back until midseason.

Path to the league

Revel is a 6-foot-3, 193-pound corner from East Carolina who worked the graveyard shift at Amazon before ever suiting up in college. He tore his ACL early in the 2024 season at ECU but still graded among the top cornerbacks in the country on limited tape, and ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. ranked him the No. 2 cornerback and No. 23 overall prospect in the 2025 class. Dallas drafted him in the third round, No. 76 overall.

Career highlights

Revel's college tape, built on elite measurables including a 4.40-second 40 and an 11-foot broad jump, was enough to keep him in first-round conversations despite missing most of his final college season. His length and ball skills at the position made him one of the more talked-about developmental prospects of his draft class.

2025 season recap

Revel reinjured the surgically repaired knee during training camp and opened the season on the non-football injury list, not making his NFL debut until Week 11 against the Raiders. He played in seven games, starting five, with 35 tackles and three pass breakups, but the lost development time showed: Pro Football Focus rated him last among qualifying cornerbacks in 2025.
