Solomon Thomas arrived in the league as a top-three pick out of Stanford carrying huge expectations. Nearly a decade and five franchises later, he has settled into life as a reliable interior pass rusher, now with a new team after a trade sent him to Tennessee.
Path to the league
Thomas starred at Stanford, winning the Morris Trophy and earning first-team All-Pac-12 and third-team AP All-America honors as a junior in 2016. The San Francisco 49ers made him the third overall pick in the 2017 draft.
Career highlights
Thomas has played for the 49ers, Raiders, Jets and Cowboys, compiling 239 tackles, 18.5 sacks and 138 quarterback pressures across 131 career games. His best statistical season came in 2023 with the Jets, when he posted a career-high five sacks.
2025 season recap
Thomas played all 16 games for Dallas in 2025 but did not register a sack, settling into a run-stopping and pressure role along the interior. The Cowboys traded him to the Titans in March 2026, exchanging seventh-round picks in the deal.
