Terrace Marshall Jr. was one of the top receivers on one of the greatest college offenses ever assembled, catching touchdowns from Joe Burrow on LSU's championship run. His NFL career has never matched that ceiling, and after bouncing through five organizations in five years, he's fighting for a roster spot in Miami.

Path to the league

Marshall was part of LSU's historic 2019 national championship team, catching 13 touchdown passes from Joe Burrow that season, tied for the team lead, while playing alongside Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. He finished his LSU career with 106 receptions for 1,594 yards and 23 touchdowns. The Carolina Panthers drafted him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Marshall spent his first three NFL seasons with Carolina (2021-2023) but never developed into a featured receiving threat, leading to his release. He has since had stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Las Vegas Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles, largely in depth and practice-squad roles.

2025 season recap

Marshall spent the 2025 season bouncing on and off the Eagles' practice squad and did not appear in a regular-season game. He signed a futures contract with the Miami Dolphins for 2026, giving him a fresh chance to compete for a roster spot.
