An undrafted Florida A&M product who fought through two roster cuts to score his first NFL touchdown in a Patriots uniform.

Terrell Jennings has never had an easy path onto an NFL roster, and that has not changed in New England. The running back signed as an undrafted free agent out of Florida A&M in 2024, got cut twice, and kept working his way back onto the active roster both times. He is now battling for playing time behind the Patriots' top backs.

Path to the league

Jennings starred at Florida A&M from 2019 to 2023, rushing for 1,860 yards and 24 touchdowns on 281 carries over 44 games. He went undrafted in 2024 and signed a three-year deal with the Patriots that May, immediately facing long odds to make the 53-man roster.

Career highlights

As a senior at FAMU, Jennings was named Most Valuable Player of the Florida Classic rivalry game against Bethune-Cookman and took home Offensive MVP honors in the SWAC Championship Game against Prairie View A&M. He was released by the Patriots at final cuts in both 2024 and 2025, but re-signed to the practice squad each time and clawed his way back onto the active roster.

2025 season recap

After returning to New England's active roster on October 29, 2025, Jennings scored his first career NFL touchdown on a three-yard rush against Atlanta on November 2. His season ended early when he was placed on injured reserve on December 13, 2025, but he was still on the Patriots' roster for their run to Super Bowl LX.
