Corey Kiner was one of Ohio's most decorated high school running backs before starring at Cincinnati, where he forced more missed tackles than all but three FBS backs in 2024. His path to the NFL took him through three different organizations in 2025 before he landed a role with the Arizona Cardinals.

Path to the league

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kiner won Ohio Mr. Football honors as a senior at Roger Bacon High School after rushing for 1,866 yards and 35 touchdowns. He began his college career at LSU before transferring home to Cincinnati in 2022, where he became a featured back. He signed with San Francisco as an undrafted free agent in 2025.

Career highlights

Kiner ran for over 1,000 yards in each of his final two seasons at Cincinnati, totaling 1,047 yards in 2023 and 1,153 yards in 2024 on 192 and 204 carries respectively. His 2024 season included 80 forced missed tackles, which ranked fourth among all FBS running backs.

2025 season recap

Kiner's rookie year included stops with three different teams: he was waived by San Francisco in August 2025 due to an ankle injury, joined Minnesota's practice squad in September, and was signed to Arizona's active roster off that practice squad in December. In four games with the Cardinals, he carried 12 times for 58 yards and caught two passes for 15 yards.
