Trent Brown is a massive veteran offensive tackle who joined the Texans in 2025 to add size and experience up front.
Trent Brown is one of the largest linemen in the NFL, a 6-foot-8 tackle who has protected blind sides for more than a decade. He signed with Houston in 2025 and worked his way back onto the active roster after a roster shuffle.
Path to the league
Brown played at Georgia Military College before transferring to Florida, then was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He developed into a starting tackle in San Francisco before being traded to New England. His career has since included stops with the Raiders, Patriots and others.
Career highlights
Brown won a Super Bowl with the Patriots following the 2018 season and earned a Pro Bowl nod during his career. His blend of size and pass protection made him a sought-after free agent at his peak. He signed with the Houston Texans on March 24, 2025, on a one-year, $3 million deal, per his Wikipedia entry.
2025 season
Brown was released by Houston on August 26, 2025, then re-signed to the practice squad and was elevated to the active roster on October 3. Per PFF he earned a 68.6 overall grade in 2025, 40th among 89 qualified tackles. He missed time late in the season with ankle and knee injuries.
