11-time Pro Bowl left tackle widely considered the best of his generation at the position.
Trent Williams has played 15 NFL seasons and made the Pro Bowl in 11 of them, an active record at his position. The 2025 season delivered another All-Pro nod at age 37 for a 49ers offensive line that kept Brock Purdy mostly upright during his injury-shortened year. Williams remains the standard-bearer for franchise left tackles.
Path to the league
Oklahoma left tackle drafted fourth overall by Washington in 2010. Spent 10 seasons in DC before a contract dispute and trade to San Francisco in April 2020. Has anchored the 49ers' line ever since.

2025 season and outlook
Made his 11th Pro Bowl. The 49ers went 9-8. Williams has hinted at retirement after 2026 but signed a one-year extension to play out the final year of his 49ers contract. The successor question is the biggest one looming over San Francisco's offensive line.
