A well-traveled college corner who became Ole Miss's top defensive back in over a decade and an All-Rookie honoree in Washington.

Trey Amos took a circuitous path through Louisiana-Lafayette and Alabama before a dominant final season at Ole Miss vaulted him into the second round. Washington's bet paid off immediately: Amos started from day one as a rookie and earned NFL.com All-Rookie recognition before a broken fibula ended his season.

Path to the league

Amos played three seasons at Louisiana-Lafayette before spending a season at Alabama and then transferring to Ole Miss for his final year. In 2024, he started all 13 games for the Rebels, led the team with 13 pass breakups and earned First Team All-SEC honors. Washington drafted him 61st overall in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Amos was the highest Ole Miss defensive back drafted since Senquez Golson went 56th overall in 2015. He backed that up with a strong combine, running a 4.43-second 40-yard dash and posting a 32.5-inch vertical.

2025 season recap

Amos started 8 of 10 games as a rookie cornerback for Washington, breaking up four passes and recording 24 solo tackles before a fractured fibula in a Week 10 loss to Detroit ended his season. His rookie-year play still earned him a spot on NFL.com's 2025 All-Rookie Team.
