Troy Fautanu

Offensive Tackle · Washington

Steelers 2024 first-round tackle moving from right to left in 2026 to anchor Aaron Rodgers' blind side.

Troy Fautanu was Pittsburgh's first-round pick in 2024 out of Washington, a tackle whose feet and balance always profiled best on the left. After two seasons on the right side, the Steelers are moving him to left tackle in 2026, the centerpiece of a line reshuffle built to protect a 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers.

Path to the league

Washington product taken in the first round by Pittsburgh in 2024. Played left-side positions in college before the Steelers deployed him at right tackle for his first two NFL seasons.

2026 role

Moving to left tackle, bringing right guard Mason McCormick with him to preserve the chemistry the two built on the right side. The shift protects Rodgers' blind side, though it requires Fautanu to adjust after previously blocking for left-handed quarterbacks. The move was partly forced by Broderick Jones' spinal fusion recovery and the free-agency loss of Isaac Seumalo.
