Tylan Grable's path to the NFL began as a high school quarterback in Gordon, Georgia, before injuries and a position switch redirected him to the offensive line. After stops at Jacksonville State and UCF, he landed with the Buffalo Bills as a developmental tackle prospect who battled through injury in his first two pro seasons.
Path to the league
Grable began his college career at Jacksonville State in 2018 as a walk-on, initially trying tight end before settling in at left tackle. He earned first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference and second-team FCS All-America honors in 2020, then transferred to UCF for 2022-2023, starting at left tackle both seasons and picking up honorable mention All-Big 12 recognition in his final year. Buffalo selected him in the sixth round, 204th overall, in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Grable's calling card in college was durability and steady left tackle play across multiple conferences and levels of competition, a rare résumé that included both an FCS all-conference nod at Jacksonville State and Power conference recognition at UCF.
2025 season recap
As a rookie in 2024, Grable appeared in four games with one start. His 2025 season was disrupted when he was placed on injured reserve in August with concussion symptoms; he worked his way back and was activated in late November ahead of Buffalo's Week 13 game against Pittsburgh.
