Path to the league

Wilson began his college career at Texas A&M before transferring to Texas Tech, where he started for three seasons and recorded 69 solo tackles, 29.0 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks. As a senior in 2022, he earned first-team All-Big 12 and first-team All-American honors from USA Today, The Athletic and Phil Steele Magazine, prompting him to forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the 2023 draft.

Career highlights

The Las Vegas Raiders made Wilson the seventh overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the highest a Texas Tech defensive player has ever been selected. At 6-foot-6, 271 pounds with an 86-inch wingspan, he has drawn praise for his rare length and upside as an edge defender, steadily increasing his snap counts and production across his first three professional seasons.

2025 season recap

Wilson played all 17 games in 2025, finishing with 35 tackles (25 solo), 4.0 sacks, a pass breakup, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. It marked his third straight season logging between 400 and 500 defensive snaps while producing between 3.5 and 4.5 sacks, a steady if still-developing level of production for the former top-ten pick.
