Uchenna Nwosu broke into the NFL out of USC and found his stride as an edge rusher after leaving the Chargers for Seattle. Knee surgery delayed his 2025 debut, but he gave the Seahawks a productive stretch once he returned. He took a pay cut to stay in Seattle for the season.

Path to the league

Nwosu played college football at USC before beginning his NFL career with the Los Angeles Chargers. He signed with Seattle in 2022 and posted his best season that year. His length and bend off the edge made him a fit alongside the Seahawks' rotation.

Career highlights

Nwosu's 2022 campaign in Seattle remains his benchmark as a disruptive edge presence. He reworked his contract in March 2025, accepting a $6.99 million pay cut that left two years and $19.51 million remaining on his deal. That kept him in the fold as part of a rotation featuring DeMarcus Lawrence, Derick Hall and Boye Mafe.

2025 season

Coming off offseason knee surgery, Nwosu made his season debut in Week 2 at Pittsburgh. He came out hot, recording 5.5 sacks and 17 pressures over his first eight games before cooling to 1.5 sacks and six pressures across the next eight. He added three pressures over three playoff games as Seattle made a postseason run.
