Valentin Senn's path to the NFL runs through Volders, Austria, where he grew up playing soccer before discovering American football as a teenager. Signed by Arizona as an undrafted free agent under the league's international pathway exemption, the 6-foot-7 tackle spent his rookie training camp fighting for a roster spot before a neck injury derailed his first season.
Path to the league
Senn started at wide receiver and tight end before moving to offensive tackle on his way to college ball. He spent two seasons at Colorado before transferring to UConn, where he became a three-year starter at left tackle, appearing in 41 games with 38 consecutive starts. He went undrafted in 2025 and signed with the Cardinals, becoming one of the league's international-exemption practice squad signings.
Career highlights
At UConn, Senn earned an East-West Shrine Bowl watchlist nod after his senior season. Per PFF, he played over 900 snaps at left tackle in his final college season, posting an 80.0 overall offensive grade and not allowing a sack all year. He was also selected 9th overall by the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL international draft but chose to pursue the NFL instead.
2025 season recap
Senn suffered a neck injury in training camp and was placed on injured reserve, ending his rookie season before it began. He has yet to appear in a regular season NFL game.
