Rams Won't 'Play the Victim Card' After Late Pass Interference Call in Denver
Josh Wallace's interception was wiped out by a flag on third down with under a minute left, and Denver scored the winning touchdown. Los Angeles had five penalties in the final two minutes and lost three more players to injury.
Sean McVay said the Los Angeles Rams will not "play the victim card" over the pass interference penalty that erased a game-sealing interception in Sunday night's 30-26 loss at Denver. "It is what it is. That was the call that was made and there was a lot of opportunities that we had to be able to close the door on that game," McVay said.
What was the call?
On third-and-6 from the Rams' 11, cornerback Josh Wallace intercepted Bo Nix but was flagged for interfering with Pat Bryant. Denver got first-and-goal at the 7 and scored with 47 seconds left. The Rams, who led 16-0 at halftime, were penalized five times in the last two minutes, tied for the most by any team in that span since 2000.
Who is hurt?
Cornerback Jaylen Watson dislocated his arm and is likely out for Week 4 at Philadelphia, tight end Terrance Ferguson has an ankle sprain and is expected to miss the game, and tight end Colby Parkinson has an AC joint sprain. On Puka Nacua, who has missed two games with groin soreness, McVay said: "There's optimism that he'll be able to play this week."
