A South Florida native who rushed for over 1,000 yards twice at Oregon State after transferring from Colorado, Anthony Hankerson signed with Miami as an undrafted rookie.
Anthony Hankerson is a hard-charging running back who found his stride at Oregon State after two seasons at Colorado, becoming just the sixth player in Beavers history to post multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons. The Boynton Beach product signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft, entering a crowded backfield competition.
Path to the league
Hankerson starred at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, helping the program to three Class 7A state championships, before beginning his college career at Colorado in 2022. After two seasons with limited production, he transferred to Oregon State in 2024. He went unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft and signed with Miami as an undrafted free agent.
Career highlights
At Colorado, Hankerson rushed for 274 yards and 3 touchdowns as a freshman and 319 yards and a touchdown as a sophomore. His move to Oregon State unlocked a much bigger workload: he rushed for 1,082 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2024, becoming one of only a handful of Beavers to post multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons after a strong follow-up in 2025.
2025 season recap
Hankerson closed his college career at Oregon State with another 1,000-yard rushing season in 2025, highlighted by a 132-yard, one-touchdown performance against Washington State, and was named a Pac-12 Offensive Top Performer. He signed with Miami as an undrafted free agent after the 2026 draft and will compete in a deep Dolphins backfield.
