George Holani

An undrafted Boise State workhorse who parlayed special-teams grit into a Super Bowl ring with Seattle.

George Holani rushed for nearly 3,600 yards over four seasons at Boise State but went unselected in the 2024 draft. He carved out a niche with the Seahawks on special teams before injuries elsewhere in the backfield opened the door for expanded offensive touches, culminating in a championship run in his second season.

Path to the league

Holani starred at Boise State from 2019 to 2023, earning Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year honors in 2019 and twice being named second-team All-Mountain West. He finished his college career with 3,569 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns on the ground, adding 88 catches for 777 yards and eight more scores. He signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024.

Career highlights

Holani spent much of his rookie season on the practice squad and special teams, appearing in five games with just three carries. He earned a spot on Seattle's active roster late in 2024 when Kenneth Walker III went down with injury, giving him his first extended look on offense.

2025 season recap

Holani's role grew in 2025, appearing in 11 regular-season games and rushing 23 times for 73 yards and a touchdown, along with a kickoff-return score against Pittsburgh. With Zach Charbonnet injured and Kenneth Walker III sidelined, Holani stepped into a lead role late in the year and carried that into the playoffs, contributing 13 scrimmage yards in Seattle's Super Bowl LX win over New England to earn a championship ring.
