An Illinois high school rushing legend who found his footing at Missouri State and made the Seahawks' active roster as an undrafted rookie.
Jacardia Wright rewrote record books at St. Teresa High School in Decatur, Illinois before a slow start at Kansas State led him to transfer to Missouri State, where he became a two-time all-conference back. He signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent and earned his way onto the field during the Seahawks' Super Bowl LX season.
Path to the league
Wright finished second in Illinois state history with 8,821 rushing yards and 133 touchdowns at St. Teresa High School before committing to Kansas State, where he saw limited action from 2019 to 2021. He transferred to Missouri State in 2022, where his production surged, and went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft before signing with Seattle.
Career highlights
Wright earned second-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors in both 2023 and 2024 at Missouri State. In his final college season, he rushed for 824 yards and 14 touchdowns while adding 35 receptions for 403 yards, finishing his Bears career with more than 3,500 yards from scrimmage and 33 total touchdowns.
2025 season recap
Wright made his NFL debut in Seattle's Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints, rushing for 20 yards. He worked his way onto Seattle's active roster during the season and signed a reserve/futures contract on February 12, 2026, sharing in the Seahawks' Super Bowl LX championship after a turf toe injury limited his availability late in the year.
