Collin Oliver arrived in Green Bay as a fifth-round pick out of Oklahoma State, prized for the explosive first step that made him a freshman sensation in Stillwater. A nagging hamstring issue turned his rookie year into a slow climb back to the field, but the Packers still see the traits that made him a name to know coming out of college.

Path to the league

Oliver was a two-year defensive end and senior-year outside linebacker at Oklahoma State who broke out immediately, earning Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors with 11.5 sacks in his first college season. The Packers drafted him in the fifth round (159th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft, making him the first Oklahoma State player Green Bay had drafted since 1977.

Career highlights

After his monster freshman year, Oliver followed with five sacks as a sophomore and six as a junior, establishing himself as a consistent disruptor off the edge for the Cowboys. His senior season was cut short by a foot injury that limited him to one sack across a shortened schedule, but his combine testing, including a 39-inch vertical and 4.56-second 40, kept his draft stock afloat.

2025 season recap

Oliver's rookie year was almost entirely lost to injury. He aggravated a hamstring problem during rookie minicamp after first hurting it at the combine, spending much of the season on the physically unable to perform list before being activated late in the year. He played just one game, logging 17 pass-rush snaps and two pressures in Week 18 without recording a sack.
