A five-year Arizona safety who racked up nearly 300 career tackles and peaked with a First Team All-Big 12 senior season.
Dalton Johnson spent five seasons at Arizona, developing from a special-teams contributor into one of the Big 12's top safeties before the Raiders drafted him in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The Katy, Texas native joins fellow Arizona product Treydan Stukes in the Las Vegas secondary.
Path to the league
A three-star recruit out of Katy High School in Texas, Johnson played five seasons at Arizona from 2021 to 2025, appearing in 50 games. The Raiders selected him with the No. 150 overall pick in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and he joins Arizona teammate Treydan Stukes, a second-round Raiders pick, in the Las Vegas defensive backfield.
Career highlights
Johnson finished his Arizona career with 286 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, three sacks, five interceptions, 10 passes defensed and seven forced fumbles across five seasons. He steadily grew into a leading tackler for the Wildcats, posting a team-leading 94 tackles in 2024 before an even bigger senior year.
2025 season recap
Johnson earned First Team All-Big 12 honors in 2025 after career highs of 97 tackles, four interceptions and seven passes defensed. He was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week twice, including after an 18-tackle performance against Baylor, and closed the season with a three-tackle, interception and forced-fumble effort against Arizona State.
