Devyn Perkins is a homecoming story: born in Las Vegas, he signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2026 after a college career built at Utah Tech, with a one-year detour to Southern Utah. The safety's ball skills and special-teams versatility give him a path to sticking on the roster.
Path to the league
Perkins played his college football at Utah Tech, other than a 2024 season spent at Southern Utah before he returned to the Trailblazers for his final year. He went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft and signed a three-year contract with the Raiders as a free agent.
Career highlights
As a redshirt sophomore at Utah Tech in 2021, Perkins started 10 of 11 games and recorded 31 total tackles and 14 passes broken up, co-leading the Trailblazer defense with two interceptions, including a school-record 95-yard pick-six against Missouri State. He closed out his college career with two more interceptions in his final season.
2025 season recap
Back at Utah Tech for his final college season, Perkins intercepted two passes, including his first pick in nearly two full seasons against Central Arkansas and another off Tarleton State's opening offensive snap. He signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent shortly after the 2026 draft.
