Jason Marshall Jr. grew up a five-star recruit in Miami and slipped to the fifth round of the 2025 draft after injuries clouded his final Florida season. Path to the league

Marshall attended Miami Palmetto High School in Pinecrest, Florida, where he was ranked the No. 3 cornerback in the country and a five-star recruit. Injuries during his college career at Florida hurt his draft stock after he had once been considered a potential first-round talent, and the Dolphins selected him with the 150th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Over four seasons at Florida, Marshall recorded 98 tackles, two interceptions, 27 passes defended and 7.5 tackles for loss. Landing with his hometown Dolphins gave him a chance to play in front of the community where he grew up as a top recruit.

2025 season recap

Marshall had a strong rookie campaign, finishing with 14 solo tackles, one interception and four passes defended. He was the only rookie in the NFL in 2025 to record a game with at least five tackles, an interception and two pass breakups, a performance that highlighted a productive first season in Miami's secondary.
