Jihaad Campbell was considered one of the best players in the 2025 draft class, but a torn labrum suffered during his final Alabama season pushed him down the board. Philadelphia traded up to grab him at the back of round one, and he immediately became a fixture of their linebacker corps.
Path to the league
Campbell was a first-team All-SEC linebacker at Alabama in 2024 before declaring for the draft. Philadelphia traded up with Kansas City, sending the No. 32 pick and a fifth-rounder, to select him 31st overall in the 2025 NFL Draft; general manager Howie Roseman called him a top-10 talent on the Eagles' board.
Career highlights
Despite recovering from shoulder surgery, Campbell earned a starting role in his first season and was named to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team. He played all 17 games as a rookie, starting 10 of them.
2025 season recap
Campbell finished his rookie season with roughly 80 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, numbers that helped him earn PFWA All-Rookie honors. He also logged 11 quarterback pressures as Philadelphia worked him into an expanding role at linebacker.
