Path to the league

Tyson began his college career at Colorado, where as a true freshman he led the team with 470 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 22 catches. A major knee injury led him to redshirt in 2023 after transferring to Arizona State. He declared for the draft after his 2025 season and was selected eighth overall by New Orleans, the highest an Arizona State player had been drafted since defensive back Mike Haynes went fifth overall in 1976.

Career highlights

Over his final two college seasons at Arizona State, Tyson caught 136 passes for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns. He was named Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year and first-team all-conference in 2024 after a 75-catch, 1,101-yard, 10-touchdown campaign, and he was a legitimate Biletnikoff Award candidate as college football's top wide receiver.

2025 season recap

Tyson closed out his Arizona State career in 2025 as one of the most productive and heavily scouted receivers in the country, continuing the big-play production that made him a Biletnikoff Award watch list name and pushed him into top-10 draft conversation. His tape and testing carried him to the eighth overall selection in the 2026 draft.
