Justin Shorter

Wide Receiver · Florida

A big-bodied receiver who transferred from Penn State to Florida, Justin Shorter is still searching for a consistent role after three NFL seasons.

Justin Shorter arrived in the league as a fifth-round pick after a productive run at Florida following his transfer from Penn State. His NFL career has been defined more by size and potential than production so far, and he has spent much of it working through injuries.

Path to the league

Shorter began his college career at Penn State before transferring to Florida in 2020, where he caught 95 passes for 1,395 yards and eight touchdowns over three seasons as a big, physical target. The Buffalo Bills selected him in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Shorter was placed on injured reserve as a rookie in Buffalo before being waived in 2024 and picked up by the Las Vegas Raiders, first on the practice squad and then the active roster. His NFL production has been limited so far, with just 3 tackles and no receiving statistics recorded through his first three seasons.

2025 season recap

Shorter appeared in games for the Raiders during the 2025 season but did not record receiving statistics, continuing to work as a depth and special-teams piece. He was placed on injured reserve in 2026 with an undisclosed injury.
