Kayshon Boutte arrived at LSU as one of the most electric prospects in the country, then saw his draft stock tumble after injuries and a rocky final season. In New England he has steadily reclaimed that promise, breaking out as a touchdown scorer and playing a role in the Patriots' run to Super Bowl LX.
Path to the league
Boutte played three seasons at LSU from 2020 to 2022. As a true freshman against Ole Miss, he set an SEC record for receiving yards in a game with 14 catches for 308 yards. Once considered a potential first-round pick, his stock fell after an injury-hampered 2022 season in which he caught 48 passes for 538 yards and two touchdowns. The New England Patriots selected him in the sixth round, 187th overall, in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Boutte's rookie season was limited to two catches for 19 yards across five games. He broke out in 2024 with 43 receptions for 589 yards and three touchdowns over 15 games, scoring his first career touchdown on a 40-yard catch from Drake Maye in Week 6. That season, the Patriots advanced to Super Bowl LX, where Boutte caught one pass for 21 yards in a loss to Seattle.
