Kyle Williams gives the Patriots a big-play threat at receiver after a college career that started at UNLV and blossomed at Washington State. New England took him in the third round of the 2025 draft to add speed and downfield production to a receiver room that badly needed it.
Path to the league
Williams began his college career at UNLV from 2020 to 2022, winning Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors in 2020 after catching 35 passes for 426 yards and two touchdowns. He transferred to Washington State for the 2023 and 2024 seasons and was selected by the Patriots with the 69th overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Over his two seasons at Washington State, Williams started all 25 games and caught 131 passes for 2,041 yards and 20 touchdowns, a total tied for sixth-most in program history. His best season came in 2024 with 70 catches for 1,198 yards and 14 touchdowns, following a 2023 campaign of 61 catches for 843 yards and six scores.
2025 season recap
Williams entered his rookie season as one of New England's top receiving additions, giving the Patriots a downfield weapon they lacked in recent years. He was part of the Patriots roster that advanced all the way to Super Bowl LX in his first professional season.
