The Bozeman, Montana native even walked away from the game for a month in early 2026 before deciding he wasn't done and re-signing with Tennessee.
Path to the league
McCutcheon starred at Bozeman High School as a two-way threat before playing four seasons at Montana State, where he broke out as a senior with 61 catches for 1,219 yards and nine total touchdowns, earning first-team All-Big Sky honors and helping the Bobcats reach the FCS national championship game. He went undrafted in 2022 but signed with the Los Angeles Rams and made their 53-man roster.
