A six-year Division II starter who once worked arena security, Michael Jerrell turned a late-blooming football career at Findlay into an NFL roster spot.
Jerrell's road to the league ran through the University of Findlay, where he spent six seasons and became one of the most durable linemen in program history. Seattle drafted him in the sixth round in 2024, and he has since moved to Atlanta, where he continues to compete for reps along the offensive line.
Path to the league
Jerrell grew up in west Indianapolis and only became a full-time varsity starter as a senior at Pike High School after playing tight end for most of his prep career. He spent six seasons at the University of Findlay, a Division II program, starting 40 of 48 games, and the Seattle Seahawks selected him in the sixth round, 207th overall, in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Jerrell earned first-team All-GMAC honors three times and was named the conference's Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2023, closing his college career on a 40-game starting streak while helping Findlay average 177 rushing yards per game behind a line that allowed just 17 sacks that season. He also earned an undergraduate degree and an MBA during his time at Findlay.
2025 season recap
Jerrell appeared in 11 games for Seattle across his first two seasons, making three starts, before the Seahawks traded him to the Atlanta Falcons in August 2025 for a conditional 2027 seventh-round pick. He has worked to establish himself as a depth piece on Atlanta's offensive line.
