Jawaan Taylor built his name as an ironman right tackle for the Jaguars before cashing in with the Chiefs, where he won a Super Bowl in his first season. A second-round pick out of Florida in 2019, he has now brought his veteran presence to Atlanta.
Path to the league
Taylor played his college football at Florida before the Jacksonville Jaguars selected him in the second round, 35th overall, of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Taylor started all 16 games as a rookie in 2019, becoming the first Jaguars rookie offensive lineman to start every game since 2001, and helped Jacksonville's offense rank among the league's best rushing units in 2021 and 2022. He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2023 on a four-year, $80 million deal and started at right tackle as the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII in his first season with the team.
2025 season recap
Taylor started all 12 games he played for Kansas City in 2025 before an elbow injury landed him on injured reserve. He battled a rocky start with penalties, leading the NFL in flags through the season's first month, but rebounded with several penalty-free games and allowed just 10 total pressures on the year before his season ended.
