At 6-foot-8, Ozzy Trapilo was drafted 56th overall in 2025 to solve Chicago's left tackle question, and he did just that for most of his rookie year. A patellar tendon injury suffered in the wild-card round ended his debut season on a difficult note, but not before he had shown he could handle the job.
Path to the league
Trapilo spent five seasons at Boston College, appearing in 44 games and becoming a starter as a sophomore. He started at right tackle in 2024, helping the Eagles offense produce 4,754 total yards. The Bears took him with the 56th overall pick in the second round of the 2025 draft and signed him to a four-year deal.

Trapilo earned All-ACC First Team honors in 2024 and All-ACC Second Team recognition in 2023. He is a Norwell, Massachusetts native who became a foundational piece of Boston College's offensive line across parts of five seasons.
2025 season recap
Trapilo played 14 games as a rookie with six starts at left tackle, earning his first career start in Week 12. He posted a 72.5 overall Pro Football Focus grade with solid run-blocking marks, but his season ended early when he suffered a patellar tendon injury during the Bears' wild-card playoff win over the Packers.
