Reese Taylor's path to the NFL has been anything but direct - a high school quarterback and state champion, he switched to cornerback at Indiana, went undrafted, bounced from the Chiefs to Denver's practice squad, and only earned a permanent spot on the Broncos' active roster in his third NFL season.
Path to the league
Taylor played quarterback and won a state championship at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis before starring on both sides of the ball at Indiana, where he converted to cornerback in 2019. After a graduate transfer season at Purdue in 2022, he went undrafted in 2023, signing first with the Kansas City Chiefs before Denver acquired him in November 2023.
Career highlights
At Purdue in 2022, Taylor started all 13 games as a fifth-year senior, recording a career-high 34 tackles, an interception and four pass breakups. Across his four seasons at Indiana, he tallied 108 tackles and three interceptions while also handling return duties.
2025 season recap
After years of practice-squad and reserve/futures deals in Denver, Taylor was promoted to the Broncos' active roster for the first time in his career on November 15, 2025. He has appeared in a depth cornerback and special-teams role since, recording a small number of tackles in limited action.
