Bruising BYU product who left Atlanta for Arizona on a two-year deal in March 2026, primed for a larger role with the Cardinals.
Tyler Allgeier spent four seasons as a productive complement in Atlanta's backfield, most often behind Bijan Robinson. A converted linebacker at BYU, he runs with the downhill toughness that made him a red-zone weapon for the Falcons. He signed with the Cardinals in free agency and arrives with a chance to start.
Path to the league
Allgeier began his BYU career at linebacker before moving to running back and breaking out as a 1,600-yard rusher in 2021. The Falcons drafted him in the fifth round in 2022, and he topped 1,000 yards as a rookie.
2025 season
Allgeier ran for 514 yards on 143 carries for Atlanta in 2025 and led the team with eight rushing touchdowns, one more than Robinson. His efficiency on outside runs stood out across the year. In March 2026 he agreed to a two-year deal worth roughly $12.25 million with Arizona.
Outlook in Arizona
With Cardinals backs James Conner and Trey Benson coming off season-ending injuries, Allgeier entered the offseason in line for starting work. His outside-zone fit suits Drew Petzing's scheme, and Arizona later added rookie Jeremiyah Love to the room.
