Wydett Williams Jr. took a long road to the NFL, playing for three different programs before landing at Ole Miss for a standout final season. The safety signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent after helping the Rebels reach the College Football Playoff.
Path to the league
Williams began his college career at Delta State in 2022 and 2023, then transferred to Louisiana-Monroe for the 2024 season before finishing his eligibility at Ole Miss in 2025. Across those four seasons and 50 games, he built a reputation as a physical, ball-hawking safety regardless of the level of competition.
Career highlights
Over his full college career, Williams totaled 247 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 20 passes defensed, 2.0 sacks, six interceptions, three fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and a blocked kick. His best individual season came at Louisiana-Monroe in 2024, when he racked up a career-high 100 tackles.
2025 season recap
In his only season at Ole Miss, Williams appeared in all 15 games and recorded 73 tackles, 10 passes defensed and three interceptions, helping the Rebels reach the College Football Playoff and play in the Fiesta Bowl. He went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft but signed with the Arizona Cardinals as a free agent.
