Week 6: Seahawks Visit Broncos on Thursday Night With Both Teams Coming Off Turnover Problems
The Seattle Seahawks visit the Denver Broncos on Thursday night, October 15. Seattle is 3-2 after a 32-29 home loss to San Francisco in which it turned the ball over four times and Sam Darnold threw two interceptions; the Seahawks have 11 giveaways in their past three games. Denver is 3-2 after a 23-17 win at the Chargers in Sean Payton's first game with a larger play-calling role, a game in which the Broncos gained 224 yards and went 1 of 12 on third down but forced three turnovers; Pat Surtain II's ankle has no announced return date.
Seattle's giveaways
Eleven turnovers in three games for a team that had a 12-game winning streak a month ago.
Denver's offense under Payton's hand
Two hundred twenty-four yards and 1 of 12 on third down against the worst team in the league.
Surtain's status
The Broncos' defense is built around him, and he has not practiced since the injury.
AI Prediction
Seahawks
Broncos Denver at home on a short week with the better defense
Eighty-three points allowed in its past four games against a Seattle offense that keeps giving the ball away.
Seattle's talent is still higher
Darnold, Smith-Njigba and a defense that forced four turnovers in Week 4 could win this comfortably if the ball is protected.
Neither offense is reliable
The projected total of 37 is the week's lowest.
A Low-confidence home lean in a game the model has close to even.
